About a month ago a nice lady in my Ward taught we how to make homemade cards and gave me some creative ideas of things I could do. I was asked to make some cards for a Young Women and Young Men's activity in my ward and here is the result.
Apple Crumb Pie
Crust:
2-1/4 cups sifted flour
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup plus 2 Tbl crisco
1/3 cup cold water
Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening with pastry blender or two forks. Sprinkle water one teaspoon at a time and blend with fork. Roll into ball, cut in half and roll out. Makes two 9 inch crusts.
Filling:
2/3 cup sugar
2 Tbl all purpose flour
1 tsp ground cinnamon
6 to 8 tart apples sliced thinly
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
Combine first 3 ingredients; stir into apples. Place into pastry shell. Combine last 3 ingredients; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over top of apples. Bake at 400 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes.
Enjoy!
This was called Jaba the hut, That flowing rock is 12 feet deep.
After the excitement of the caves we call took a break and napped/ate/showered. Then we headed for Salt Lake to go to the Greek Festival in honor of the fact Christina is in fact Greek. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of that but I did eat way too much because all the food was sooo good,
After the stuffing of ourselves we headed over to Christina's sister Liz's apartment for cake with ice cream in the middle. It was good. Definitely an all day birthday celebration.
