Still Waiting

We were supposed to find out if we were having a boy or girl this past Monday, but no such luck. The whole family went to the doctor in anticipation only to be told there was not ultrasound tech that day as of the two they have one is on vacation and the other is out for a death in the family. So next Thursday is the day. Now as long as baby cooperates we'll know soon.

In other news, since I had gestational diabetes with Evie I got to take an early 2 hour glucose test today. With Evie I did a one hour first then a three hour this time they just went for the happy medium of 2 hours enough to tell them what they need to know but not enough to make you miserable. We'll see how that goes but we're hoping for no diabetes this time.
P.S. Evie is 2 1/2 now. Where did all the time go?

Evie's Getting a Sibling

We find out next week if Evie gets a brother or a sister. We're so excited and can't wait. Evie's favorite random phrase in the middle of anything we're doing lately is "You have a baby in your body."

Evie Update

As of May 20th Evie is now 3 months old. I can't believe it's been that long but we're excited to watch our little bug grow. I thought I would post some pictures I've taken of her with my cell phone in our days and nights together here goes in no particular order. You may notice many of the pictures she is in the same blue chair, it's because that's when I could take her picture when a. she wasn't crying and b. I wasn't holding her.
This is what she does at 3am after she eats...if only I could fall back asleep that easy, I was in the middle of  changing her diaper and she was out cold.

Hi Mom! She loves looking at the phone when I take her picture.

She can now grip objects and one of her favorites is her purple bird that makes a  crinkling sound and has a bell in it. This is one of the most recent pictures as of May 28th.

This picture is from more than a month ago but she just looks so cute.

Dive who fell asleep on our walk

I couldn't resist the putting the flower headband on her, it never lasts long but it's cute while it lasts.

This face precedes a diaper change.  : )

Hoodie! She loves having things on her head.

Evie can now laugh and does so regularly. Her favorite word is "spagetti" but only when her daddy says it.

Laughing again.

This is for comparison purposes, she is still a little bug.

Aunt Jenn sent her some pretty outfits and she's been trying them out. Every girl needs a green polkadot tutu.

This is her sleeping on Daddy and in case you're wondering Ben's shirt says the word "stud" and then has a picture of a muffin.

Smiles!

This is the face you get if you surprise the little girl

This is her Easter Spledor

She loves to cuddle with Daddy!

Evie

As of February 20th Ben and I have a new addition to the Family. Evie was born Monday February 20th at 2:43 pm after I arrived at the hospital at 11:30 pm the night before. She was born exactly on her due date and as my dad said she takes after the cooper side of the family and is already punctual. I want to thank the labor and delivery nurses at Timpanogos Hospital who took care of me, Ben and the Baby for the 4.5 days we were there. Also thank you to the Doctors who delivered my 7 lb 3 oz baby via c-section after a few hours of allowing me to push and getting no where. We survived and I'm grateful for the c-section because 7lbs is a lot of baby to come out of someone as small as me. That is the short and sweet version, maybe I'll put the longer one on another day.

Today little miss Evie is 10 days old and Ben and I are thrilled to be parents. We're even learning exactly how much sleep we need to function :). We love our little girl and are in constant awe of her cuteness and can't believe she's ours. She's also super low key and only gets upset if we don't feed or change her fast enough, the rest of the time she's happy or asleep. We couldn't ask for a better baby.

Also, a huge thank you to my dad and stepmom who arrived Friday, provided my favorite kind of food, spoiled the baby, and proceeded to clean and organize my home a million times better than it's ever been done. They flew out this morning and will be missed.

Now for some pictures:

This was her leaving the hospital outfit. She looked even cuter than we thought she would when we bought it.
She looks like me when I was a baby. Full head of black hair and all. She has a darker version of Ben's eyes though. We'll see if they stay that way.

Ben feeding the baby. When I feed her I don't allow pictures :)

All dressed up. Ben insisted we need the little shoes.

December Update

I haven't updated in a while, but here are some of the highlights from December:

Christmas Day shot, all dressed up for church.

We can't open one present until February.

And then of course it wouldn't be the Christmas season without a trip to Temple Square to see all the lights.

I hope you had a great Christmas and here's to a happy new year!

Guess What...

So Ben and I have some news. The newest Blanchette will be arriving around February 20th. We're so excited and It's a Girl!yea! So far we're pretty sure she takes after me as she spent most of the appointment kicking her legs, rolling herself in a ball, and constantly flipping.

The only thing she was not adverse to showing us was that she was in fact a girl. Ben is concerned and already wrote a song for any boy that tries to date her when she's older. The song involves Ben's purchase of a gun.

Great Movie

This evening I got invited to watch a movie called "17 Miracles" at my church with the relief society and the young women. The movie is about some of the mormon pioneers and their experience on the trail. IT.WAS.INTENSE. I had heard it was an amazing movie but a tear jerker. Already being in an emotional state today, I was concerned I might lose it while watching this movie. It was epic but I held it together, right up until the last 10 minutes or so and then I lost it, in a big way. Big blubbering tears. I highly recommend this movie. It's not made or produced by the LDS or mormon church officially but most of the people in the movie are LDS. If you get the chance to watch it I would highly recommend you take it.
You can see the trailer here: http://www.17miracles.com/
